These are some of the key messages:
- Keep moving if you can! Evidence show it is best to return to activity and work as soon as you are able
- Back pain shouldn’t stop you from exercising. Even using weights appropriately can improve your pain
- A scan will often not be useful in diagnosing your back pain. Research shows that findings on scans do not always correlate with people’s symptoms
- The amount of pain you are in rarely equates to the level of damage. Pain is a complex experience affected by a large range of factors. See our recent blog post on pain for more information
