Neurological physiotherapy and occupational therapy

My mother, who is a resident in a care home, had problems with her chair, some falls, and moving and handling. Faye, supported by Kelly (both from Severn Physiotherapy) provided a wide ranging, thorough and insightful assessment in the home, carefully and compassionately assessing our mother and the staff handling her over a 2 hour period. Faye also assessed her needs for a suitable chair in great detail. The resulting report has been very useful in helping us decide on a suitable chair, and in helping staff with appropriate moving and handling, including the use of a hoist. These can be difficult issues for both care home residents and staff, and Faye conducted the assessment sensitively, involving both my mother and the staff appropriately in the process. I would thoroughly recommend Severn Physiotherapy to anyone in a similar position, and I am sure their other services are equally as good.

A really great sports massage it's helped with trouble I was getting when training my legs at the gym. Kelly is very knowledgeable, and was able to give me some great advice for when I train. Will definitely go back for more treatment

Skye works with my elderly father who has dementia and ankylosing spondylitis. Sadly he is no longer able to walk, but Skye is working on his upper body, core and leg strength to enable him to retain as much mobility as possible. She has a very good relationship with him, which is built on respect and trust. She listens to him, checks how he is feeling and moves at his pace. Her positive attitude means that Dad, who can be quite hard to motivate, is enthusiastic about doing the exercises and perseveres even when he finds it difficult. Skye is conscientious about communicating with us as a family and suggesting ways we can get involved in Dad's exercise programme. I have no hesitation in recommending the practice to others.

I recently had a knee replacement and was very anxious and in a lot of pain following discharge from hospital. Kelly managed to visit me at home at short notice and was incredibly reassuring and helpful. She’s been able to visit a number of times since and this continues to be helpful as the NHS physio appointments are infrequent. What a wonderful experience this was. We arranged for Kelly from Severn physiotherapy to visit my Dad after spending time in hospital to get him mobile again. Kelly was so friendly and thorough in getting to understand the problems my dad faced and then treating him for these problems. Helping him stand and helping us understand how we can help him. I really can’t praise Kelly enough. She then contacted our GP and gave recommendations for occupational therapy referrals.
