Severn Community Therapy CIC are now offering Hush Disco, a silent disco kit for care homes! We have had success so far in hiring out our kit with 2 LED 3-channel headsets to local homes. The residents and staff have enjoyed the immersive experience, recalling favourite tunes from the past and sharing happy moments together. 

Hush Disco is a great way for people living with dementia to feel immersed in music and be able to recall memories. The headsets are comfortable and reduce external distraction. The music ignites memories and allows the person to recall moments from their past. These can then spark conversation with family, carers and other residents. 

Also the music gets people moving! As therapists we spend our days supporting people to be able to move as independently as possible. Music can hep people initiate movement with conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease and dementia. Or it can help soothe and relax someone who may be feeling distressed or anxious. 

OPTIONS:

– Hire our kit for low cost and run your own discos – get Carers and Activity Coordinators, Admin and Management involved!

– If you feel you need more support for set-up on your first hire just let us know

– Choose to have a physio to support the disco who can spend time with each resident supporting them to standing and helping them balance and move their bodies to the music if they would like to. This costs £85 for the duration of the disco but the cost of delivery will be taken off as our physio can bring the kit and take it away, and do the set-up for you.
