Rhiannon Kelland

Rhiannon qualified as a Physiotherapist from Sheffield Hallam in 2002, spent several years honing her basic skills in all the key areas of physiotherapy (as well as travelling the world!) and then has spent the last 18 years mainly working within the speciality of Neurology, supporting patients to manage their long-term neurological conditions. She has worked predominantly in the community, with a passion to support patients to live their best lives, even with life limiting conditions such as Motor Neurone Disease and brain tumours.  She has worked with several private providers, providing rehabilitation to complex patients following brain and spinal cord injury. She has completed further training regarding medication for spasticity and neuropathic pain.

More recently she has developed a specialist interest in pelvic health, taking a year away from neurology to work in an acute pelvic health service, gaining skills and knowledge on the impact of the perinatal period and menopause. She can assess pelvic floor muscles, to support management of incontinence, prolapse and sexual dysfunction. She provided ante-natal and post-natal group sessions to provide information and guidance to pregnant women and new mothers, as well as assessing musculo-skeletal issues during pregnancy and immediately post partum.

Rhiannon is a qualified Pilates instructor and uses the fundamental principles from this approach to support her patients. She is passionate about shared decision-making, working collaboratively with patients to achieve their goals.

Outside of work Rhiannon has a young family and a very energetic border collie, who conspire to keep her very busy!!
