How does a massage in my home work?

We will book an appointment time that works well for you. Before your massage we ask you to complete a short form to ensure that pregnancy massage is the right treatment for you. We also suggest that you check with your midwife they are happy for you to have a massage.

When we arrive we will chat through how your pregnancy is affecting you, and any problem areas you would like us to focus on. We then set up a massage table wherever you feel is best.

The treatment lasts for around an hour. When the massage is finished we will wait with you for a short while to ensure you’re feeling well and answer any questions.

What Position will I be in?

Usually you will spend most of the massage lying on your side, supported by cushions. However if this position isn’t comfortable for you we can alter things so if works for you. At the end of the massage it is important take you time getting up and drink plenty of water, as the massage can make you feel dizzy.

What should I wear?

The most important thing is that you feel comfortable. We usually suggest that you wear your underwear and we use towels to keep you covered. However, if you would prefer to wear more clothing this is not a problem.
